FAQs

Immersion Therapy Pods — common questions

What is an Immersion Therapy Pod?

A single-person cold-plunge pod — a compact, deep, temperature-controlled shell designed specifically for cold-water immersion therapy. Not a spa, not a small pool: purpose-built for the 3–15°C cold-plunge use case.

How big is the Pod 2?

Internally 1.93m long x 0.9m wide x 0.8m deep — sized for a single adult to fully immerse standing or seated. Externally including the cladded surround it's 2.15m x 1.45m x 0.805m, so it fits in a corner of a yard, a garage, or a therapy space.

Do I need special equipment to keep it cold?

Yes — cold-plunge pods run with a dedicated chiller and circulation loop separate from a normal pool pump. We supply and install the chiller as part of the build. It maintains set temperature (3–15°C, typically 8–12°C) automatically.

How much does it cost to run?

Running cost is driven by the chiller — modest for a well-insulated pod like the Compass unit. A typical daily use pattern (30 minutes of cold immersion per day) with the chiller maintaining temperature overnight runs in the region of $2–4 per day depending on ambient conditions.

Can it go indoors or is it outdoor-only?

Both — the cladded external design suits indoor installation in a bathroom, therapy room or garage as well as outdoor placement. Indoor installs need drainage and moisture management like any indoor water feature.

Is it covered by the Compass triple warranty?

Yes — the Pod 2 shell carries the same Ceramic Core construction and warranty coverage as any Compass shell. The chiller and its components are covered by their own manufacturer warranty (typically 2–5 years) provided at install.
