Bi-Luminite 3D colours
A three-layer colour finish that creates real dimensional depth — the surface sparkles as light hits reflective chips at different angles.
A conventional fibreglass pool finish is a single-tone gelcoat — one colour, one texture, one look. Bi-Luminite is layered. A base tone is laid down, then reflective chips of contrasting colour and size are suspended in the top coat and sealed under a clear layer.
The result is a surface that behaves differently through the day. Overcast morning light picks up the deep base tone. Direct midday sun catches the chips and the water sparkles. Late-afternoon shade reads darker and moodier — the pool is three colours across a day, all from one finish.

Technical specifications
Nine colours in the palette
The Bi-Luminite range spans deep blues (Sapphire, Atlantic, Pacific), warm turquoise (Pearl), sparkling neutrals (Quartz, Pink Quartz), and moody blue-greens (Vercoe, Viridian, Evolution). Five Vivid single-tone finishes are also available for owners who prefer a solid, saturated look.
The best way to choose is in real light. Our SPASA Gold-award Vogue display pool in Port Macquarie is filled and running in Sapphire — give Mark a call and we'll book you a time to see it in person.
It is not just paint
The Bi-Luminite finish is part of the shell, not painted onto it. It is applied in the factory during shell manufacture and sealed under a chemical-resistant clear coat. It does not fade, chalk or discolour the way vinyl-lined or painted pools do.
Compass backs the finish with a 10-year cosmetic warranty.
Bi-Luminite 3D colours — questions we hear most
What makes Bi-Luminite different from a normal fibreglass finish?
A standard fibreglass pool has a single-tone gelcoat. Bi-Luminite is layered: a base colour goes down first, then reflective chips of contrasting colour and size are suspended in the top coat, and everything is sealed under a clear chemical-resistant layer. That layering creates the 3D depth that makes the water sparkle and shift through the day.
How many Bi-Luminite colours are there?
Nine colours in the Bi-Luminite range: Sapphire, Atlantic, Pacific, Pearl, Quartz, Pink Quartz, Vercoe, Viridian and Evolution. Plus five Vivid single-tone finishes if you prefer a solid saturated look — Royal Blue, Arctic Marine, Ice Blue, Grey Marble and Ivory Shimmer.
Will the finish fade in the Australian sun?
No — Bi-Luminite is UV-stable and sealed under a clear coat that's chemically resistant to pool chlorine and salt. Compass backs it with a 10-year cosmetic warranty covering fading, chalking, blistering and discolouration under normal pool chemistry.
Does Bi-Luminite show scratches or marks more than plain gelcoat?
No — the chips are suspended within the top layer and sealed under the clear coat. Nothing sits proud of the surface. It cleans and behaves like any other high-end fibreglass finish.
Can I see Bi-Luminite in a filled pool before I choose?
Yes — our display Vogue 7.15 in Port Macquarie is Sapphire Bi-Luminite. It's filled, running, and shows the 3D effect properly. We also keep the full sample set so you can compare chips against the running pool for scale. Viewings by appointment — give Mark a call.
Why do the Vivid pools get a shorter structural warranty?
Vivid uses a different pigment system and a slightly different gelcoat process — still high quality, but the manufacturer's warranty covers 25 years structurally on Vivid vs lifetime on Bi-Luminite, and 7 years cosmetic on Vivid vs 10 years on Bi-Luminite. Both are transferable to new owners.
