Mark Pollard has been installing pools for 35 years — since he was 16, in the family business his parents set up in the 1980s, then continuing under Mark Pollard Pools as the Compass Pools dealer for the greater Port Macquarie region.

Three and a half decades of pools — one family, one number to call
Mark started installing pools when he left school at 16, working alongside his dad and three brothers in the family business — Pollard Pools — that his parents set up in the 1980s. The business grew into the region's original Compass Pools dealership; Mark & Kirsty took the dealership over from them and continue as Mark Pollard Pools today. Mark has never worked for another pool company — his whole career has been right here in the family business.
That family thread is why everything still runs through us. From the first phone call to the last landscaping detail you deal with our team — not a chain of subcontractors and account managers. Kirsty handles enquiries and admin behind the scenes; Mark runs the build side and is on-site every day. Mark also does all the trade work himself — he's a qualified carpenter as well as an installer, so paving, decking, retaining walls and the finishing details are all his hands rather than outside trades. One team, one number to call, one point of accountability from the first quote to handover.

How long has Mark been building pools?

What does "authorised Compass dealer" actually mean?
It means we're factory-trained by Compass Pools Australia, we sell and install their shells exclusively in our territory, and warranty claims are processed by us directly with the manufacturer — not through a chain of subcontractors. Compass hasn't licensed a competing dealer in the Port Macquarie region.
Do you subcontract the install work?
No — Mark does everything himself and doesn't use outside trades. Along with 35 years of pool installs, he's also a qualified carpenter, so the excavation, shell placement, plumbing, coping, paving, decking, retaining walls and finishing details all come from his hands. One team, one point of contact, one person accountable for every part of the build.
What happens to the warranty if I sell my house?
The Compass triple warranty is fully transferable to the new owners for up to 25 years — this is genuinely rare in the pool industry and a real value-add for resale. The paperwork is a single form Compass handles when the property changes hands.
Do you service existing pools?
No — we're strictly new installs and renovations. We don't offer pool servicing, chemical maintenance or general pool care. For servicing an existing Compass pool, contact Compass Pools Australia directly and they'll direct you to an authorised service partner. If you're looking to renovate or refit an existing fibreglass pool, that's something we can quote on — give us a call.
Do you have a showroom or office we can visit?
We don't run a walk-in showroom or a full-time office — nobody is on the desk during business hours to greet drop-ins. What we do have is a SPASA Gold-award Vogue 7.15 display pool at our Port Macquarie address that we're happy to show you: it's filled, running, and in real light. Give Mark a call and we'll book a viewing that suits (evenings and weekends are usually easiest).
